GBG 2014 Summer Evening Rides Announced

Summer is here and what better way to enjoy the balmy evenings and beautiful views of our island than with a gentle bicycle ride through quiet lanes with like minded folk?

Once again, GBG, the Guernsey Bicycle Group, is organising a number of scenic rides every Tuesday evening throughout the summer. Each ride lasts approximately 70 mins and starts at 7pm from a number of hand-picked locations around the island. The rides are free, open to all and meticulously planned to be a gentle outing rather than a sweaty hill climb! The first ride departs the Little Chapel at 7pm on Tuesday 20th May.

The rides are suitable for all levels of ability, and the pace will be gentle. Two members of GBG will be on hand for each ride: one to lead the group and a “Sweeper” to ensure no-one gets lost!

Rollo de Sausmarez, GBG chairman, said of the evening rides: “We expect the rides to be even more popular that ever given the huge rise in our membership to over 450 this year. We've a few that start and finish at a local pub so that it can be even more sociable with a nice drink and some food afterwards."
